The Emart Youth Leadership Camp held at SMK Pending from 7th July, 2017 to 9th July, 2017 aims to build a strong foundation in leadership among our students.
Some 160 prefects, class and assistant class monitors and librarians participated in the camp. Leadership elements were incorporated through games, simulations, activities and heartfelt sessions.
Through the various activities, participants learned not to run away from challenges but to overcome them. They learned that leadership is not a privilege, but a responsibility. Being leaders does not mean they have the right to assert control over others, but it means that they must work towards establishing a sense of trust in order to gain the confidence and respect of those they lead. Respect is earned, not demanded, this our youth learnt.
This camp also provided the participants with the opportunity to work together with individuals from different races and diverse backgrounds. During this camp, countless memories were created, and no doubt, camaraderie was strengthened.
We, from SMK Pending, would like to extend our profound gratitude and deepest appreciation to the CSR team from Emart Group of Companies for their time and commitment.
