Cabaran Membaca Satu Buku
Sebulan was a reading
challenge organised by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak in collaboration with the Sarawak
Government. Its aim was to inculcate reading habits among students from all
over Sarawak. This reading challenge ran through the whole of 2012.
SMK Pending sent in many entries. Audrey Chong from
Form 3B has made SMK Pending proud by emerging as the second runner-up in the
reading challenge. At a glittering ceremony held at Pustaka Negeri Sarawak recently,
Audrey received a trophy, a certificate and book vouchers worth RM100.
It is our hope that Audrey’s win will spur students of
SMK Pending to read more. Reading is a healthy habit that will take us far, as
the saying goes, Reading Takes You Places.
It really does not matter whether the books are in BM, English or Chinese. What
matters is… we read.
